Mailbox permission changes reports

Assigning proper mailbox permissions ensures that only the right users get the intended privileges for mailbox access. Mailbox Permission Changes report gives information about the users for whom mailbox permissions were changed recently. It also provides the before and after values of the changed permissions.

Navigate to Audit → Exchange Server → Audit, and click the Mailbox Permissions Changes drop-down to generate and view the reports under this category. The reports in this category include:

Mailbox Permission Changes

This report lists the users whose mailbox permissions were changed recently, the domain to which they belong, the person who modified the permission, the modified permission with its old and new values, and the timestamp. Configuring alert notifications for this report can help in tracking all recently modified permissions.

Mailbox Send As Permission Changes

Configuring Send As permissions correctly is important, since it grants users other than the mailbox owners the right to send messages from that particular mailbox. The Mailbox Send As Permission Changes report lists all the recent changes to the Send As permission of users′ mailboxes. This report lists the user who changed the permission, the user′s domain, the mailbox for which the permission was modified, and the timestamp.

Overall Mailbox Permission Changes

This report provides information on mailbox permission changes including the Full Access permission, Send on Behalf Of, and Send As permissions. This report lists the users who changed the permission, the target mailbox, and the timestamp.
